The first class of the second half

 This class is the first of the latter half in the class “English education”. In this class, I learned about Communicative Language Teaching, and I knew the origins about it. We did some activities about it there. I want to study hard about English education in the class of second half, too. 

Sherlock Holmes Two Plays

     Sherlock Holmes is a famous detective in the book written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. There are two suspense stories in this book. 

First, one  shopper’s assistant named Spaulding found an interesting advertisement “The Red-Headed League”.  He told the league to one shopper named Wilson. The league was a good news for red-headed man, because they only do easy work and they can get money! Wilson had red hair and decided to go the league. He went to the league for one week, but one day, the league was suddenly finished. He wanted to know the real purpose of the league and the reason why the league was suddenly finished. Therefore, he went to see Sherlock Holmes...

Second, A man who named Hilton came to see Holmes. Hilton who was a teacher got three exam papers, and he was so careful with them, because most students wanted to see the papers. However, his servant came to his room and he forgot locking the door. Perhaps someone entered his room to see the exam papers, because the door wasn’t locked. The exam is so important, so Hilton wanted to find someone who looked the paper....

The both stories are interesting! I want you to read and know the climax.

Last class of the first period

      In this class, it was the last class of the first half. I was tense a little, because we had to take a test. Therefore, I’m worried about the result. After we finished the test, we talked about culture shock. I haven’t feel it because I haven’t been abroad to study, so I’m looking forward to feeling it and feel anxious. I learned many things  in this class, and I study hard the class of the latter half, too!

The Adventures of TOM SAWYER

     It is a famous story written by Mark Twain, and it is an adventure story. 

Tom Sawyer was a boy who liked adventures. His adventures was fun, but it’s so dangerous! For example, He went out his house in midnight with his friend to see a ghost. However, he saw the scene of a murder instead of ghosts. He went into a tunnel, and lost his way to come home. 

He was exposed to danger many times, so I was kept in suspense so much! However, the climax is so interesting, so I want you to read it! 

Romeo and Juliet

     It is one of the most famous story written by Shakespeare, It is famous for the sad story. 

Romeo and Juliet met at the party, and they fell in love. However, it was an unrequited love, because his and her families were enemies each other. They married secretly, but some unfortunate events happened...  

I felt so sad to read this story, and this story’s climax was irredeemable, but this story is interesting. 

Speech of my way to how to study 1

 In this class, I made a speech about my study, and I heard other students’ speech about it. I became tense to make a speech very much. I learned many ways to hear their speech, so I refer to the speech for my study. Therefore, I’m looking forward to hearing other students’ speech in next class. I’ll consult them for my study, too.

How to learn English

 In this class, I learned the four strands like Language- focused learning, Meaning- focused input, Meaning- focused output, and Fluency development. I also learned how to learn effective. I’m working a cram school, so I will teach the students about the things I learned in this class. I want to make use of them for my study, too. Next week, I will make a speech about my way to study. I am worried about the speech, so I must prepare it harder. 

Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp

This story is so famous, but I have never read it in English. Therefore, I read it, and writing the review. 

A boy named Aladdin was a poor boy in Arabia, but he is lazy and didn’t work. His mother was working hard and they can live. One day, Aladdin met a man who named Abanazar. He said to Aladdin “I’m a your uncle!” He gave much money and expensive coat for Aladdin. Aladdin thought he is a good man, but Abanazar wasn’t his uncle. Abanazar was a magician and he planned something. His plan is to get a lamp, and the lamp is a Magic lamp! He wanted to get it, but a poor boy in Arabia who named Aladdin could only go and get it. Therefore, he met Aladdin to let him get and give him the lamp. His plan didn’t succeed and Aladdin got and use it. As a result, he became rich, and got a beautiful woman as a his wife. Abanazar knew the fact and he planned something evil...

It’s a interesting story, and I want you to read it, and look the climax!

The factors of learners

 There are many thing which influences to learn, and they are our age, our characters, and so on. I started to study English when I was 12 years old, so I am worried about my pronunciation in English. I learned that it is better to study foreign language when we’re young. I couldn’t study when I was a little child, but I won’t make my children study foreign language when they are young in the future. To study them is so important, but it’s so difficult and hard. I don’t think I can make them do it perfectly, and it’s not good to force children to study. I understand to learn it as soon as we can is so necessary, so it’s so difficult question. 

Influence of our mother tongue

 I learned about the influence of our mother tongue. The language of native country affects our pronunciation. For example, Many Japanese can’t pronounce l and r correctly, because Japanese don’t need to pronounce them when they speak Japanese. However, babies can recognize all pronunciations. I was surprised to hear that, but babies can’t do it as they grow older, because they don’t have to do it. I think that we can do more things to grow up, but we can’t do something as we grow.I think it is interesting, and  I feel pronunciation is difficult again.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

      As you know, this is a famous fairy tale. One day, Alice was sitting under the tree with her sister. Her sister was reading books, but Alice hadn’t nothing to do. Therefore, she was boring, and she felt sleepy. Just at the moment, she saw a white rabbit which has a watch. Alice ran after the rabbit, and strayed into wonderland. She met many animals and people there, and all of them is mad. For example, a caterpillar which smokes a pipe, the Cheshire Cat which can vanish its body, a hatter and March hare that were enjoying a tea time, and so on. I think most people know the story, but reading the same story in English is  differs from reading it in Japanese. Accordingly, I want you to read it, because the story is interesting if you have read it in Japanese before.

To maintain motivation

 In October seventh, there was second class of English-language education. I learned about motivation. Motivation is important not to give up something, but it is difficult. The reason is, I must not make  a vague plan to motivate. If the plan is abstract, most people will be remiss in their efforts.

In the meantime, I introduce how to motivate by myself. I have trouble in getting up early so much, but I have to do it to take classes. I set the alarm by my smartphone, and the sound is my favorite music. I also listen to music when I start to study something. I can’t concentrate if my room is too quiet, so it helps me so much. 

Hollywood

 

I read this book “Hollywood” is written many things about Hollywood. As you know, Hollywood is famous for wonderful films, and there is an essential place now, but it was different in the past. I was so surprised to hear that! In addition to this, I knew many things about Hollywood. I introduce the part of the things about the area.

First, Hollywood wasn’t call Hollywood, the place called Nopalera. I was surprised, because the famous area’s name was different at first! I introduce the summary about the origin of the name. In 1853, there was nothing there, only one small house and lots of tall cactuses. By 1870, farmers began to move to the place, because it was good to grow crops there and they called there the Cahuenga Valley. The farmers brought orange and other trees with them and the trees grew well. Therefore, more people heard the beautiful Cahuenga Valley and its wonderful weather.Harvey Wilcox and his wife Daeida often visited the area, and they loved the quiet roads and their green trees. Harvey bought land in the valley, and he wanted to sell land to people for houses. One day, Daeida heard a land near Chicago and the land’s name is Hollywood. She loved the name, and Harvey liked the name, too, so they named their land Hollywood. I didn’t know that, so I’m glad to know that.

    

       Second, I introduce the history of movies.“In the early 1890s, W.K.L.Dickson and Thomas Edison of the New York Edison Company made two inventions, the Kinetograph and the Kinetoscope.” The two inventions were used for watching moving pictures, but only one person could do! I surprised many people couldn’t watch moving pictures simultaneously. When could the people watch movies at once? “Soon after, in March 1895, the Lumiére brothers showed people in France a new invention, the Cinématographe.” The invention allowed many people to watch movies at the same time! These inventions are source of movies, and some movies were made in 1900s. The movies were silent and monochrome films. When could the people watch color movie? I want to introduce the answer, because the answer and the history about movies is so interesting! However, the continuation of the story is so long, so I want you to read this book and know the answer and the history! 

 

 

 

The first class of English-language education

     I knew the content of this class’s curriculum today. I want to be a teacher, so I study hard about the teaching of English in this class. I also knew that I should read widely, but I don’t read books in English recently. Therefore, I make an effort to read books earnestly. I also learn about the general outline of SLA today, and I’ll learn about it minutely in next week. This subject is so important for me, because I’m studying English and French now. Accordingly, I put forth a effort to study in this term.
